The oldest distillery on Islay, Bowmore has been described as the Grande Dame of the island. It still has its own floor maltings which make up about 30% of its requirements. Its No. 1 vaults are the oldest maturation warehouse in Scotland and the only one below sea level.
This is the old Dumpy bottle of Bowmore 12 year old. Bottled in the 1980's before current owners, Suntory bought Bowmore at the end of the decade.
