Lot number: 066-0449

Winning bid: £140

The history of Glen Scotia is one of fits and starts and many different owners over the years. Founded in 1823 and one of the last remaining distilleries from Campbeltown's glory years as the "Whisky Capital of the World", the distillery is still using fermenters, the stillroom and the dunnage warehouse dating from the 1830s. It also takes probably the smallest cut of all distilleries in Scotland, collecting the spirit from just 71%-68%.

A release of the Campbeltown malt from 1973, the year in which Pink Floyd released 'Dark Side Of The Moon'.

Distilled: 1973

Bottled: December 1996

40% ABV / 70cl
