Sazerac 18 year old Spring 2015 release
This straight rye whiskey is named after the infamous Sazerac coffee house in New Orleans and played a massive roll in creating America's first cocktail, the Sazerac. The cocktail itself can be dated back to pre civil war, around 1850s and since 2008 it has been the New Orleans official cocktail.
For this straight rye whiskey itself, it was distilled by the Buffalo Trace distillery and is part of their ''Antique Collection'' as the traditional rye component.

Thomas H. Handy Sazerac 2015 release
Who was Thomas H Handy? He was a New Orleans bartender who rose to fame as the first to use rye whiskey in the Sazerac Cocktail and this is Buffalo Trace's nod to him.
This uncut and unfiltered Straight Rye was Jim Murray's World Whisky of the Year when it was released in 2013 and also scored back to back wins in the World Whiskies Awards for World's Best Rye Whiskey in 2014 & 15.

Launched into the world in 2002, George T Stagg immediately garnered reviews and accolades of which lesser drams can only dream. Winning the Malt Advocate's Whiskey of the Year within months of its release and championed by Jim Murray, Bourbon of the Year for three years in a row 2008 - 2010 and indeed World Whisky of the Year in 2004, George T. Stagg's high rye recipe, long aging and uncut strength result in one of the world's greatest whiskies.
