The Rare Malts are a series of Diageo cask-strength releases, designed to show off some of the lesser known whiskies in its empire. Now discontinued they are much sought after by collectors. All bottlings are cask strength, and un-chill filtered.
Built in 1891 Craigellachie did not begin production until 1898. The whisky initially was destined for the White Horse blend but since Barcadi's takeover in 1998 the majority of its output now heads for the Dewar's range.
