Glen Albyn 1969 32 Year Old Old & Rare
Lot number: 066-2601
Winning bid: £310
Glen Albyn once boasted its own railway line which was linked to the main Highland Railway Company line. At one point the distillery was converted into a mill and when distillation returned to the premises it was with stills that were, "the most improved and modern style" according to Alfred Barnard. The distillery was another victim of the 1983 cull.
The Old & Rare Range from Douglas Laing contains whisky that it believes deserves greater recognition due to the unique and remarkable qualities the whisky possesses. Bottled in distinctive squat bottles, this range of single cask whiskies offers relatively few examples due to the angels' share taken during the maturation process.
