This whisky comes from the almost mythical distillery called Kagoshima, which, while it still produces shochu spirit, has not produced whisky since 1984. Distilled in the shadow of an active volcano, this was the most southerly of Japan's whisky distilleries during its active years.
This particular whisky was made by vatting five remaining casks which were then aged for an additional five years. Rarely ever seen on the market, this is another exciting bottle of Japanese whisky for us here at SWA!
