Bruichladdich was established in 1881 and has changed hands many times over the years. Owned by French spirit group Remy Martin Bruichladdich distill, mature and bottle their whisky on site as well as using barley from the surrounding farms.

Since their renaissance in 2001 their range of whiskies are bottled without added colour or chill filtration and at 46% ABV and above. They are pioneers of cask management, peating levels and presentation.

The second release of the Black Arts from Bruichladdich. Then Master Distiller Jim McEwan has been at work here with a particularly mysterious bottling of Bruichladdich.

Using a combination of bourbon casks and wine casks, it was matured in "the Stygian darkness of Warehouse number 12".

Err right Jim... Well, we love the whisky anyway!
