Founded in 1895 Gordon & MacPhail have been bottling single malt whiskies for 120 years and by the 1950s they held the largest range of bottled malt whiskies in the world. Another victim of the 1983 cull, Glen Mhor has perhaps the best reputation of the Inverness distilleries that survived until the 1980s (The Inverness Three?). Founded by John Birnie in 1894 when he was refused shares in Glen Albyn, it was the first distillery to use a Saladin box for their malting needs.
