Pages from Ardbeg's Sales & Stock Book from 1881 contain in meticulous detail - and beautiful penmanship - the ins and outs of whisky from the distillery.
Within the 17 pages are sales to Haig & Company, Robert Brown & Co (now Seagram's), Macfarlane & Co, R E Harvey, Wright & Greig and many others.
The owners then were Alex Macdougall & Co, and there is even an envelope addressed to them.
And read it and weep - the precious Ardbeg liquid was being sold for 4/2d a gallon - the equivalent of 21pence today!
