Lot number: 068-4936

Winning bid: £75

Established in 1775 Glenturret is considered the oldest working distillery in Scotland, although there are some who dispute this. It is also home to some of the most traditional working practices in Scotland for example they have the only mash tun that has to be stirred by hand. It is also the home of the Famous Grouse Experience Visitor Centre which is one of the most modern and highly thought of tourist attractions in the whisky world.

A photo, unearthed from the back of a cupboard at Glenturret, dating from 1905 and featuring 16 stillmen, along with a collie dog, has provided the inspiration for this limited edition bottling.

The 16 stillmen formed the backbone to Glenturret Distillery and the dog, Fly, belonged to the distillery manager who lived in a house on the distillery premises in Crieff, Perthshire.
