The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and school teacher. Now owned by the Edrington Group, The Macallan prides itself on its Six Pillars, which include its curiously small stills, very narrow 'cut' of new make spirit and exceptional cask management. It is the most sought after whisky for collectors, regularly setting records at auctions all round the world.

Handpicked by Macallan's Whisky Maker from less than 1% of the casks maturing at The Macallan Distillery, this bottle contains whisky from an exceptionally high proportion of first fill Sherry casks.

A new exclusive to Travel Retail, this is the Macallan Rare Cask Black. Launched in September 2015, it is described as a "dark, smoky and unexpected" Macallan. Drawn from less than 100 casks, this is a limited release looks like it will go quickly!
