Sold in America during prohibition for medical purposes, due to the Surgeon General refusing to believe it could be drunk for pleasure, Laphroaig was awarded a Royal Warrant by Prince Charles in 1994. The biggest selling single malt from Islay, Laphroaig is one of the last distilleries using its own floor maltings.
Released specially for the Islay festival in 2003, this seldom seen Laphroaig benefits from a bit more smoke than the standard 10 year old.
Bottled: 2003
