In 1869 the Ripy brothers opened their distillery on Wild Turkey Hill in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Wild Turkey Bourbon got its name in 1940 when distillery executive Thomas McCarthy took samples of the bourbon on a wild turkey hunting trip.

This bottle is from between 1992 and 1998 when the company changed from the 8 year old age statement to the Old No. 8 Brand you see on this bottle.
