Lot number: 072-2307

Winning bid: £60

The whisky distilled at the Glengyle distillery is bottled under the name Kilkerran as Loch Lomond distillers use that name for a vatted malt.

The distillery was originally founded in 1872 by William Mitchell but closed in the 1920s. Some 79 years later one of his ancestors, Hedley Wright bought the distillery installed Ben Wyvis's old stills.

The spirit that has been produced has been subject to much experimentation, peating levels, cask types and even quadruple distillation being utilised.

This is the 7th release in the Work in Progress series that paved the way for their 12 Year Old that was released in 2016

Distilled: 2004

Bottled: 2015

Age: 11 years old

46% ABV / 70cl
