Winning bid: £155

Bruichladdich was established in 1881 and has changed hands many times over the years. Owned by French spirit group Remy Martin Bruichladdich distill, mature and bottle their whisky on site as well as using barley from the surrounding farms. Since their renaissance in 2001 their range of whiskies are bottled without added colour or chill filteration and at 46%ABV and above. They are pioneers of cask management, peating levels and presentation.

The Bruichladdich Sherry Editions are interesting experiments in which the same whisky is finished in different sherry casks for two years.

(Ximinez is not exactly a misprint, but it’s not the common spelling either).
