Bruichladdich was established in 1881 and has changed hands many times over the years. Owned by French spirit group Remy Martin Bruichladdich distills, matures and bottles its whisky on site as well as using barley from the surrounding farms. Since its renaissance in 2001 its range of whiskies are bottled without added colour or chill filtration and at 46% ABV and above. It is a pioneer of cask management, peating levels and presentation.

This whisky was made from Chalice Barley harvested in September 2006 and distilled in November.

Grown on land owned by one of Bruichladdich's shareholders, the Schroeder family, and tended by farmer Jim Logan.
