In the Summer of 1980 Bowmore Distillery was honoured by the visit of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Unfortunately the planned date for the visit coincided with the 'silent season', a period when distilleries are closed for essential maintenance.
In over two hundred years this was to be the most prestigious visit ever to Bowmore Distillery. For such an auspicious occasion and to fully appreciate the traditional methods of producing Islay's oldest Malt Whisky, it was obvious that only the full distillation process would suffice.
This exceptional malt whisky is the result. Produced from only 12 casks filled during this historic and truly memorable visit of 19th August 1980.
A limited edition Bowmore from a single cask, it comes with a copper replica still decanter within a presentation box.
