The oldest distillery on Islay, Bowmore has been described as the Grande Dame of the island. It still has its own floor maltings which make up about 30% of its requirements. Its No. 1 vaults are the oldest maturation warehouse in Scotland and the only one below sea level.
Morrison Bowmore Distillers gave each member of the company a special bottle as a gift following a visit in the summer of 1991 by Keizo Saji, then president of Suntory, where he personally oversaw the filling of a sherry cask.
After Mr Saji's death, his son visited Bowmore and asked that his late father's cask be bottled and a bottle given to each member of the company.
Distilled: August 1991
Age: 21 years old
Cask Type: Sherry cask
55.5% ABV / 70cl
