Lot number: 074-3379

Winning bid: £50

This whisky has been bottled by the oldest independent bottler in Scotland, which has long championed the absence of colouring and chill filtering.

This bottle was distilled at the Glen Scotia distillery which is also in Campbeltown where Cadenhead is based. The history of Glen Scotia is one of fits and starts and many different owners over the years. Founded in 1823 and one of the last remaining distilleries from Campbeltown's glory years as the "Whisky Capital of the World", the distillery is still using fermenters, the stillroom and the dunnage warehouse dating from the 1830s. It also takes probably the smallest cut of all distilleries in Scotland, collecting the spirit from just 71%-68%.

50.5% ABV / 70cl
