Established in 1775, Glenturret is considered the oldest working distillery in Scotland, although there are some who dispute this. It is also home to some of the most traditional working practices in Scotland. For example, it has the only mash tun that has to be stirred by hand. It is also the home of the Famous Grouse Experience Visitor Centre which is one of the most modern and highly thought of tourist attractions in the whisky world.
From the Glenturret website - 'A genuinely handmade whisky crafted with passion & care and dedicated to Michael Jamieson, who served the Scotch whisky industry for 44 years both as a cooper and latterly as a foreman. With Michael retiring last year, The Glenturret Jamieson’s Jigger is a fitting tribute to a man who has hand crafted thousands of casks over his 44 year career and who skilfully crafted the natural wooden washbacks still in use at Glenturret Distillery not with glue, nails or screws – but instead with skill, passion and tradition.
Represents a truly rare & exclusive limited edition (only 170 bottles exist).'
Also contains a keyring hand made from barrels that have matured Scotch Whisky. Lot also contains extra miniature and certificate.
