Lot number: 075-3179

Winning bid: £500

Bruichladdich was established in 1881 and has changed hands many times over the years. Owned by French spirit group Remy Martin Bruichladdich distill, mature and bottle their whisky on site as well as using barley from the surrounding farms.

Since their renaissance in 2001 their range of whiskies are bottled without added colour or chill filtration and at 46% ABV and above. They are pioneers of cask management, peating levels and presentation.

The inaugural bottling of what was to become a landmark series. An iconic dram that has spent its 20 year life in Bruichladdich's Atlantic-influenced warehouses in fabulous Oloroso sherry casks – one of the truly great sherry drams.

These great casks – the end of an era – gave up just under 3000 bottles.

50.7% ABV / 70cl
