This very old style Strathisla was bottled by the oldest Independent bottlers in Scotland and have a massive portfolio of amazing bottlings, series and expression. Showing us sides of a distillery we have never seen before. In a good way of course!
Gordon & Macphail's was first founded 1895 by James Gordon & John Alexander Macphail, hence the name. All of company's stock were personally selected by themselves and aged for a longer time than other companies did to provide a higher quality whisky on the market. Their first employee was John Urquhart, a key figure in this business. John developed the whisky broker industry and carried on James Gordon's work. This have been carried on by the Urquhart family since.
