Lot number: 076-2168

Winning bid: £80

Still a family owned company, Camus sold mainly to the Tzars of Russia until the revolution. They managed to avoid bankruptcy in the 1960s by striking a deal with American traders under the name of "Duty Free Shoppers", a relationship which is as strong today as it was back in the 1960.

The "Celebration" was originally created to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the company in 1963. However, it proved such a success that the expression was continued in to the early 1990s.

This one is on the older side, and we'd hazard a guess that it is one of the 1960s bottlings.
