Blended Whisky Company 40 Year Old Golden Age Blend

The Blended Whisky Company is on a mission to prove that a blended whisky can be greater than just the sum of its part. Here is how they described this whisky on their website: "The Golden Age Blend is a superbly rich, intense and full bodied multi-award-winning blended whisky aged for over 40 years. It stands testament to the extraordinary depth of flavour that can be found in some of the marvellous whiskies distilled during the ‘Golden Age’ of distilling, spanning the early ’60s to the mid ’70s.

The finest venerable malts distilled at Macallan, Glenrothes and Tamdhu were used, with additional character and ‘seasoning’ from gently peated whisky from Bunnahabhain. Finally, an exceptionally well-aged grain whisky from North British was added to tie the malts together and form the backbone of the blend, at a ratio of 4 parts malt to just 1 part grain."
