Lot number: 076-3354

Winning bid: £720

Sitting on the Highland/Lowland border, Glengoyne distills its whisky in the Highlands and matures it in the Lowlands. Founded in 1833, under the name Burnfoot, the distillery is now owned by Ian MacLeod distillers, which champions its slow distillation process and a complete lack of peat as well as a rigorous approach to its sherry cask selection. It selects its own trees in Spain and allows the wood to air dry for two years before it is used for a further two years to age Oloroso sherry.

Released between 2005 and 2007, the series of Choice single cask bottles, chosen by distillery staff have attained legendary status amongst fans of the distillery.

On 12th January 2012, the staff involved (Duncan, Ewan, Ronnie, Jim, Charlie, Peter, Robbie, Billy and Deek) celebrated a combined total of 250 years service! In recognition of this, Glengoyne have put together this unique dram, containing casks whose combined ages totals 250 years.
