Lot number: 077-2835

Winning bid: £3,600

Sold in America during prohibition for medical purposes, due to the Surgeon General refusing to believe it could be drunk for pleasure, Laphroaig was awarded a Royal Warrant by Prince Charles in 1994. The biggest selling single malt from Islay, Laphroaig is one of the last distilleries using its own floor maltings.

This special bottling of 15 Year Old has been drawn from a cask that was presented to HRH the Prince of Wales for his 50th birthday. The Prince signed the cask and donated to the Erskine Hospital appeal, which is a charity that helps care for military veterans.

Three different labels were used to bottle this expression. With the Masion House label being particularly rare, as only fifty exist, and they were not put on general sale.

Age: 15 years old

43% ABV / 70cl x 3

Mansion House Bottle Number: 3 / 50
