Winning bid: £740

Kinclaith is among the rarest of single malts, due to the very short life of the distillery. It was founded in 1957 and closed only 18 years later in 1975.

As Kinclaith was built to supply the single malt for the famous blend Long John, there was never any official release of Kinclaith.

Duncan Taylor & Company presides over the ownership of one of the largest privately-held collections of Scotch whisky casks. Its headquarters are in the North East of Scotland, close to Speyside and it has the complete control of the entire production process, from cask selection and management, through “in-house” product and packaging design to its own “under bond” bottling facilities.

Its Rarest of the Rare range bottles is made up of cask strength whisky from distilleries that no longer exist.

This lot includes a mini of the same whisky a scroll and a wee glass.
