Courvoisier is a cognac brand first created in the mid 19th century in the region of Charente in France. The business was then bought over by an English family who developed the identity of the cognac with its recognisable Josephine bottle and Napoleon's shadow as a logo. Courvoisier has changed owner and now belongs to Beam Suntory, a subsidiary of Suntory Holdings of Osaka, Japan.
