Lot number: 085-3558

Winning bid: £150

Mothballed by previous owners Whyte & Mackay, Bruichladdich distillery was revived in the year 2000 by indy bottler Murray McDavid. For a long time the distillery was the black sheep of Islay, on account of producing unpeated whisky in order to meet its owner's blending requirements. Contrary to general expectations though, this also made it a hit with the locals who were presumably sick of the sight of peat.

Since its resurrection, and under the guiding hand of maestro Jim McEwan, Bruichladdich hasn't shied away from experimentation in cask management, quadruple distillation, love-it-or-hate-it presentation, and the introduction of the heavily peated Port Charlotte and (REALLY heavily peated) Octomore ranges. Oh, and they make a mean gin too.

This is the last Feis Ile bottling from Jim McEwan, and is the culmination of his Black Arts journey where Jim creates magic using a top secret blending process. In keeping with Bruichladdich's Hoe Down theme from the festival, this bottling is called High Noon.

There is very little information about the whisky other than the fact that the whisky in the bottle would be 134 years old if added together.

48.7% ABV / 50cl
