In 1869 the Ripy brothers opened their distillery on Wild Turkey Hill in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Wild Turkey Bourbon got its name in 1940 when distillery executive Thomas McCarthy took samples of the bourbon on a wild turkey hunting trip.
This bottling was discontinued in the early 1990's and then resurrected and repackaged in 2009 for the Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
