The Old Kilbeggan Distillery, previously known as Brusna Distillery, then Locke's Distillery. The distillery was built in 1757, one of the oldest licensed distilleries in the world. Production ceased in 1954 and the distillery finally closed in 1957.

The remaining assets were acquired by Cooley Distillery in 1988 and the first cask of Locke's whisky produced by Cooley was tapped by the granddaughter of the Last John Locke. The distillery itself is now a museum and the warehouse holds aging Cooley whiskey.
