Lot number: 087-1956

Winning bid: £320

Given the success and cult-like fan base that Ardbeg has recently enjoyed, it is almost impossible to imagine that the distillery was closed, on and off, for 15 years until it was purchased by Glenmorangie. Sitting on the southern coast line, the current distillery was founded in 1815, the original having been destroyed by excise men. The Ardbeg spirit still is fitted with a purifier which many believe accounts for its fruity, zesty character.

Ardbeg Grooves Committee Release

This release for Ardbeg Day 2018 is as they say their grooviest release for decades...This experimental bottling is laid down in intensely charred wine casks that produce heavy grooves on the surface of the wood to give a smoky and spicy aroma.

Cask Type: Heavy Charred Wine

51.6% ABV / 70cl

Ardbeg 10 Year Old Distillery Tin

This bottling comes in the archetypal tin in the shape of Ardbeg distillery.

Age: 10 Years Old

46% ABV / 70cl

Ardbeg Perpetuum

Despite the lower strength (compared to the committee release) the same notes of dark chocolate, sea-spray and pine resin are still here as is the promise that, "Ardbeg will never be automated or simulated."

47.4% ABV / 70cl
