A huge hello from all of us here at Scotch Whisky Auctions! This auction brings us some extremely rare bottles from the big players as well as some spirits that may not even class themselves as whisky….but a little diversity never hurt anyone.

Time is of the essence here in SWA HQ so let’s get started and begin with with our first of two muscle malts. It’s a first ever to hail through our doors here so we bring to you the Macallan Fine & Rare 1954 47 Year Old! Yes this utter sherry monster is some of the rarest and finest to come from the warehouses of Macallan boasting almost half a century of ageing! Now if you don’t like drinking something that is older than yourself then we have another exceptional cask strength first fill sherry Macallan, this time a humble 31 Year Old Macallan Fine & Rare.

Not a first timer here but certainly worth a shout is a Largiemeanoch 1967 12 Year Old. Distilled at Bowmore and bottled for Howgate Wine Company, this little handwritten bottle is worth keeping an eye out for! Dark as night this sherried malt is said to have tropical notes.

Okay, not malt but bear with us! L'esprit de Tiffon is a rare and unique blend of entirely pre-phylloxera cognacs - the earliest being from 1805! For the non-cognac connessiours out there, phylloxera vastartrix was a tiny pest that decimated vineyards all over France during the mid-1860s: thus making this Cognac very special!

Continuing our non-malt detour and also worth a mention is Harry E Wilken American Medicinal Spirits Company Bourbon. Distilled in 1917 and bottled in 1932 while Prohibition was still in force, this was bottled for ‘medical purposes’.

Back up to Speyside and in the safe hands of Gordon & MacPhail, we’d like to draw your attention to a Linkwood 48 Year Old. This sherried old timer comes served in a dashing crystal decanter.

Last but not least we have an array of latest releases to offer you. There is an abundance of Daftmill 2006 Summer Batch Releases that have come from the small Lowland farm as well as a healthy amount of Vega 1976 41 Year Olds from North Star Spirits.

And on a side note, we would like to say au revoir and bon chance to our friend Scott from book-ins who is off to warmer pastures! Go fourth, get bidding and remember….

Don’t lose your bottle!
