Laphroaig 1988 12 Year Old Blackadder 75cl
Lot number: 090-1297
Winning bid: £130
Blackadder was founded in 1995 by Robin Tucek who was co-author with John Lamond of the popular whisky book "The Malt Whisky File: The Essential Guide for the Malt Whisky Connoisseur." Robin runs the company with his daughter, Hannah and the whiskies they choose to bottle are selectively chosen through Robin's expertise.
Standing by their ideology that the 'cask is king', Blackadder specialises in cask strength single cask whiskies and has been significant in drawing the attention of whisky connoisseurs to such quality malts. Often recognised for their Rare Cask range, the independent bottlers also produce numerous other series such as Peat Reek, Black Snake and Red Snake, and their Japanese malt series, Riverstown. Blackadder is well-known for taking their respect of the cask to a level where they deliberately include cask deposits in their bottlings; a kooky idea that many a whisky-lover enjoys!
