Lot number: 090-6516

Winning bid: £400

Revamped in 2012 and now owned by Chivas Brothers, Longmorn distillery’s single malt is an integral element to many of the Chivas Brothers’ blends, including the Royal Salute and Chivas Regal 18 year old.

Having a long standing and productive relationship with independent bottlers, Gordon & MacPhail of Elgin, Longmorn is known for its long-ageing, exceptionally flavoursome older bottlings.

Looking back to April 1912, Shinjiro Torii sent one of his proteges to learn all he could about Longmorn’s distillation processes, who, in turn, reported back to Torii all about the distillery and its inner workings which Torii applied when establishing the Yamazaki and then Suntory empires.

To this day, Longmorn also upholds its notoriety for not having fallen out of production at any point in the distillery’s history, which is quite rare.
