If you were living in Glasgow in 1988 you might remember the Glasgow Garden Festival.
The Glasgow Garden Festival was the third of five National Garden Festivals in cities across the UK. And it was the only one to take place in Scotland. Based on the German post-war ‘Bundesgartenschau’ idea for reclaiming large areas of disused land in cities.
But here’s something you might not know. Just along the River Clyde in the Gorbals district of Glasgow, a single grain Scotch whisky was distilled that very same year at Strathclyde Grain Distillery.
