In 1749, Italian Giacomo Justerini travelled to London to try to win the heart of famous opera singer, Margherita Bellino; despite failing to do this, he stayed in the capital and established a wine merchant with George Johnson. In 1831, the business was acquired by Alfred Brooks and thus the name was born.

Skillfully blended from 42 single malt and grain whiskies, the heart of which come from Speyside, J&B Rare - a light-coloured whisky - was specifically blended for the American market during Prohibition.

This 25 year old blend has been specially created from 25 whiskies and was released in 1999 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Giacomo Justerini coming to London.
