Having won numerous high-profile awards in their recent history (most notably the title of World's Best Single Malt at the World Whisky Awards in 2014), Sullivans Cove have accumulated an army of fans worldwide. Based in Hobart, Tasmania, they use traditional methods with wholly Tasmanian ingredients.
The distillery is named after the area where Captain David Collins lead a settlement of military, settlers, and convicts in 1804 which has now developed into Hobart; however, the whisky-makers try to pay respect to the Muwinina people who were settled there long before Captain Collins arrived. Their bottlings certainly command a premium, but a justifiable one considering the quality of their spirit and the tiny amounts they produce.
