Tomintoul Distillery - built in 1965 and purchased by Whyte & Mackay in 1973 - is located inside the picturesque Glenlivet estate, within the whisky-producing region of Speyside. The distillery is named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands of Scotland. Now owned by Angus Dundee, the distillery produces mature spirit for blends as well as releasing their own single malt. A peated version dubbed Old Ballantruan is now part of Tomintoul's range.
