Lot number: 096-03173

Winning bid: £35

One of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland, Fettercairn was opened in 1825 and after having many owners - including Sir John Gladstone, father of 4-time British Prime Minister William Gladstone - is currently at the heart of the Whyte & Mackay range. The malt produced is predominantly used in the blends produced by Whyte & Mackay but they also produce their own range of aged single malts.

Handsome, smartly packaged Fettercairn. Fior is Gaelic for "true", and the whisky has an astonishingly rich flavour of cocoa, espresso, spices, fruit and almond. It was released in Summer 2010 as part of the distillery's rebranding process, which is positioning them into the premium market.

42% ABV / 70cl
