Lot number: 101-02015

Winning bid: £290

Dalmore distillery was used as a deep-sea mine production centre by the Royal Navy between 1917 and 1920. After the navy departed, the distillery was left in tatters, and - after a long compensation battle involving the House of Lords - the distillery was brought back online in 1922. Now Dalmore, under the stewardship of Richard Paterson, presents itself as a luxury brand with a history of wealthy backers, with some of its bottlings among the most expensive in the world.

Launched in autumn of 2011 The Dalmore Distillery Exclusive celebrates the artisanship of the 13 craftsmen and women who hold the secrets to distilling the malt.

Chosen by the artisans themselves, only 450 bottles of this expression were produced, and only available for sale in the Distillery Shop.
