Lot number: 101-03613

Winning bid: £380

Old Fitzgerald has a long history of high quality Bourbon releases with the brand being registered in 1884 by S. C. Herbst. It was eventually bought by the famous Julian P. "Pappy" Van Winkle during the Prohibition era in the 1920s. After moving production of Old Fitzgerald to his distillery, Pappy developed it into the first great Wheated Bourbon. In the late 1990s, Heaven Hill purchased the brand and began distilling it in Louisville at the Bernheim Distillery.

The taste of the 1849 is mellow and sophisticated with fruity sweet and crisp overtones. The finish is soft, long and soothing.

45% ABV / 75cl
