Winning bid: £170
Located in the North-East of Scotland, Invergordon is one of the only grain distilleries found in the Highlands. These distilleries are usually found in Central Scotland due to the diversity of grains and easy transportation. It was in 1951 that Invergordon was founded, but only began operating in 1961. Four years later, Invergordon was home to the Ben Wyvis Single Malt which closed after twelve years and relocated to Glengyle. Over the years, its ownership has passed through many hands before Whyte & MacKey held on in 1993.
Bottled by the Whisky Exchange to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Whisky Show in London, this Invergordon forms part of a trio of releases that exemplify the past, present and future of Scotch whisky. Also, they have super cool, 3D, lenticular labels.
Bottled: 2018
