Lot number: 104-03174

Winning bid: £65

A cognac brand first produced by Jules Gallois and Felix Courvoisier in the mid-19th century in the region of Charente in France - although their respective fathers Louis and Emmanuel had developed their brandy-making reputation during the Napoleonic Wars - Courvoisier was then bought by an English family who established the identity of the cognac with its recognisable Josephine bottle and Napoleon's shadow as a logo. The cognac was notably prevalent in Charles Dickens' spirit collection after his passing and was famously requested for the grand opening of the Eiffel Tower. Courvoisier now belongs to Beam Suntory and continues to produce elegant and stylish cognacs.

This famous XO contains long-aged eaux-de-vie from Grande & Petite Champagne and also Borderies which adds structure and depth.

40% ABV / 70cl
