Compass Box are the brilliant blending company that has brought us ''Spice Tree'', ''Peat Monster'' and "Hedonism" as part of their Signature Range. In their other series - the Limited Range - they like to produce unique releases with a bit of a twist such as "Circus"; a vatting of two blended malts, a blended grain and Benrinnes. Compass Box was founded by John Glaser and the company is known for its shenanigans and highly experimental whisky projects.

Named after the Edinburgh address of Compass Box, the Artist's Blend is the first in a series of approachable and enjoyable blended whiskies the maverick blenders. Aiming for whisky drinkers, cocktail drinkers and even non whisky drinkers, this is a rich a fruity whisky. It was awarded Blended Whisky of the Year 2012 by Whisky Advocate magazine.

The Glasgow edition of the Great King St blend from Compass Box is a smokier affair than The Artist Blend and features Glasgow's iconic Wellington statue, complete with obligatory traffic cone on his head, on the label.
