Welcome to our July auction! As per, a voluminous variety of malt spread for you all to feast upon.

First rolling off the shelves is an older bottling from Cadenhead’s. This Dufftown 1979 was bottled around the mid-90s and looks full of flavour. Not many of these still coming through our hands so nab one whilst you can. A blast from the not-so-distant past.

Coming up next is a bit of an oddball with a controversial story... We have some Toashuzo single casks from the Hanyu distillery. These have been distilled in the Hanyu distillery, however for ‘moral’ reasons, perhaps should not be classified as Hanyu. According to Ichiro, he took back all Hanyu casks when he left the company (Toa Shuzo) so there was no Hanyu left except a small precious amount left over in their tank. These bottlings are thought to be from the remainder left in the tank. We’ll let you decide yourself what you choose to call the whisky.

You want bling? We're sure it can't get much shinier than 4 and a half litres of golden Auriverdes. This shiny whisky has been aged in special casks that have had their heads removed and replaced by ones that have been heat-treated with a secret toasting regime. These new heads are designed to create a particular flavour profile which emphasises the notes of coffee and mocha. And Whisky of course.

Other top trumps that are worth a gabble consist of a Laphroaig 1974 31 Year Old. Limited to 910 bottles, this bottle has a highly acclaimed history decorated in awards and gold medals and the like. We also have a couple of Bowmore Black 1964 3rd Releases in. Can never go wrong with some black Islay gold.

We also have a plethora of newly released Waterford Irish malt this month. This distinctive looking whisky goes from grain to glass all on site; formerly a Guinness brewery. This is the creation of Mark Reynier who thoroughly believes in the Terroir approach to malt-making; the concept that place, climate, soil and aspect affect the taste of the spirit. Each bottle features its own code revealing its unique harvest, the grower, distillation details and wood maturation. Has it gone too far? Or is it pioneering? We’ll let you decide.
