A Special Vatting Bottled for the Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust to mark its historic purchase of the Island. Talisker Distillery was founded by two brothers from the Isle of Eigg - Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill - who settled on Skye in 1825.
The Isle of Eigg lies to the south of Skye and has suffered from , absent landlords for too long. In 1996 the inhabitants raised sufficient funds to buy the island and now they are in control of their land and destiny.
To celebrate their success and the relationship with Talisker Distillery, a special labelling of cask strength Talisker was prepared and donated by United Distillers and Vintners for the islanders. Only 252 bottles were produced.
They shared 102 bottles with their friends and are now offering the balance of 150 bottles to raise funds for island projects.
