This is a very early bottling and possibly the first release of the 12 year old ever. There were two major revamps at the distillery in the 1960s. Information is sparse around that time and it seems reasonable to assume that this whisky was casked then.

The bottle fill of 26 2/3 fl. zs. indicates a 1970’s bottling (the measure was changed to 75cl. In the late ‘70’s) the prefix “Royal” was dropped for a while, also around this time and the use of 70 degrees proof alcohol fits the pattern.

Level is in the neck and the box has seen better days, but it is original
