1825 saw the official opening of the Adelphi distillery in the Gorbals, Glasgow, but after changing hands a smattering of times throughout the mid to late 1800’s, it finally ended up in the hands of DLC in 1902. Sadly, production at the distillery ceased shortly afterwards.

Fast forward to 1993, and we see Jamie Walker, the great-grandson of one of the distillery’s founders reviving the Adelphi name as an independent bottler, ultimately selling the company to Keith Falconer and Donald Houston in 2004. Whiskies bottled byAdelphi are selected by a nosing team chaired by whisky critic Charles MacLean, and their outturns have received numerous accolades including those of the Malt Maniacs Awards. Each bottling is limited to between 100 and 700 bottles due to the size of the casks used.
