From Woodwinter's Wines & Whiskies in Scotland. The Five Rich and Rare is a 35 year old single grain from Garnheath.
We love it when a vendor provides all the details.
"In times past, there was both a malt and grain distillery at Moffat. It finally closed its doors in 1986 and has since been dismantled.
Moffat produced three different styles of single malt whisky, namely “Glenflagler”, “Killyloch” and “Islebrae”. It also produced a single grain whisky called “Garnheath”.
In modern times at least, “Islebrae” single malt has never been bottled. The last casks of “Glenflager” single malt (931 bottles) and “Killyloch” single malt (371 bottles) were released in 2003.
Again in recent years, “Garnheath” single grain has rarely been bottled."
We couldn't have put it better ourselves.
